Have you ever considered what influences are upon you? How about the kind of influence you are to others?
We are so easily shaped by the thoughts and behavior of others. Without knowing it, we adopt the nuances of our culture and mannerisms of our communities, especially our families. It’s called “group think,” which describes how the mindset and habits of individuals become morphed into one pattern and approach. Forget creativity and individuality as “group think” mentality dominants personal opinion and perspective.
Organizations actually use this “group think” phenomenon to create a culture around their values. Sounds good, right? But what if those values are not consistent with a Biblical foundation and sound theology? As Christ followers, we’ve got to be discerning about whose thoughts and theology we’re subscribing to.
