Would you like to read through Unblinded Faith with others?
Maybe that seems a little strange, considering it's a devotional book.
The Gathering Guide offers you the perfect tool for using Unblinded Faith in a unique and meaningful way.
Since each devotion includes a key verse, additional Scripture references for the key verse, and an application question, it actually is an ideal option for gathering a group of women together to connect heart-to-heart and unpack the beautiful life-application of Scripture!
The only decision you have to make is which format is best for you, based on the time you have available and the type of growth you want for your group.
Short & Sweet
6 Weeks {60-minute gatherings}
This schedule provides a selection of the 90 devotions to focus on and discuss during your gathering time. Each week, the participants will read three of the selected devotions at home. When you meet together, you’ll discuss those devotions. Plus, you’ll read two more devotions together as a group and can dig deeper into the Scriptures related to those devotions. At the end of the six weeks, the participants can continue reading the remaining devotions on their own or you can press on as a group and follow the plan to move through the rest of the book. You can use the question posed at the end of each devotion to guide your discussion time.
Savoring Sisterhood
10 Weeks {90-minute gatherings}
This format allows you the opportunity to read the whole book together along with giving you more time to grow the depth of your sisterhood over a longer period of time. Participants will read seven devotions on their own between the gatherings — yes, one a day! When you meet, you’ll read two of the devotions as well as the Scripture passages. For You can use the question posed at the end of each devotion to guide your discussion time.
This Unblinded Faith Gathering Guide will give you everything you need for organizing, hosting, and leading a group of women through Unblinded Faith. I can’t promise what the outcome will look like for you, but I do know this — God is about the business of equipping you with courageous faith as you seek to cultivate a Scripture-steeped sisterhood community in your neck of the woods.
Frequently Asked Questions
What do I need to consider first?
Well, before you make any decisions, stop and pray. Ask God to lead and guide your every step. In the pages to follow, I’ve done my best to answer all the questions I’d have if I was in your shoes. Take time to read through the content, then circle back around and take action as the Lord leads.
Should I lead this gathering by myself or find a co-leader or co-host?
While it’s certainly easy to lead this study all on your own, the idea of partnering with another woman is definitely worth praying about. Ask the Lord to show you who you might invite to come alongside you and serve either through hosting, organizing the details, praying, or leading the discussion.
Who should I invite to do this study?
You should invite any woman God lays on your heart. Age doesn’t matter. Season in life doesn’t matter. Neither does spiritual maturity. It would be great to have a group that is small — less than 8 — and committed to showing up and being honest with one another.
What will participants be expected to do?
Each participant will need to have their own copy of Unblinded Faith. The Companion Journal is not necessary but would be super helpful for recording their answers to the questions, which they will want to have on hand for the discussion time. Between each gathering, participants will be expected to read the selection of devotions so that they can easily contribute to the discussion.
Where can participants buy the book?
Unblinded Faith is available wherever books are sold online (Amazon, ChristianBook, Barnes & Noble). You can check with your local bookstore to see if they have stocked the book.
Are there any additional resources?
There are a number of resources that go along with the content in Unblinded Faith. You can find the secret links as you work through the book — so definitely work ahead. You might decide that some of the resources are worth turning into an activity together!
